Founded in April 2013, Toastmasters Bogotá English Club proudly holds the distinction of being the first official Toastmasters club in Colombia. Our mission is to help people from all walks of life build confidence in public speaking, strengthen their communication skills, and develop as leaders. Whether you’re advancing your career, improving your English, or pursuing personal growth, you’ll find a friendly and encouraging community ready to support your journey.
Toastmasters is a powerful combination of a proven education program where you receive effective evaluation that helps you build skills at your own pace. Plus, Toastmasters’ communication and leadership development does not take place in a typical instructor-led classroom and is not limited to a set timeframe, like a seminar or conference.
Participate in Toastmasters’ proven program, where you’ll learn how to speak comfortably in front of a group and lead with purpose. People who join Toastmasters find potential they never thought they had and achieve more of their goals and dreams.

Toastmasters is more than giving speeches. Throughout the year, we celebrate milestones, organize social gatherings, explore Bogotá together, and create lasting friendships. How it all started...
Experience as a Founding Member of Toastmasters Bogotá.
My name is Gustavo Ramírez, and being a founding member of Toastmasters Bogotá was one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life.
I first discovered Toastmasters while living in Shanghai, China, and the experience inspired me to become a better version of myself. Later, I had the opportunity to visit the Toastmasters club at MIT, where I realized that the challenge of communicating with confidence and clarity is something people face everywhere, regardless of where they live. That realization inspired me and convinced me that Colombia needed this experience as well.
We began organizing and building momentum for the idea in September 2012. After months of consistent effort, we officially became a Toastmasters club in April 2013.
It was not an easy journey. We faced many challenges in building this community from the ground up, but we succeeded because a group of people believed in the same vision and chose to build it together.
The experience transformed me as both a leader and a communicator. I take great pride in having helped bring something new to my country, and it gave me a deep sense of fulfillment as a true leader. What has been even more rewarding, however, is seeing how this organization has helped so many people develop their leadership and communication skills over the years through its clubs.
Founding Toastmasters Bogotá remains, to this day, one of the
projects I am most proud of.
